Spoken English Courses- WHY should access to English be limited to private Institutions?

As the world grows increasingly globalized, English has consistently remained a tool for students to progress in society. However, in India, most government school students face a severe disadvantage due to limited access to quality spoken English education, hindering their academic growth, employability, and confidence. This disparity perpetuates social inequality. Their lack of communication skills in English hampers confidence, reduces opportunities, and can impede their progress in a globalized world. At Youth For Seva, we are committed to bridging this gap. Through our Spoken English Training Program, we provide free, structured, and engaging activity-based sessions tailored for government school students. Our trained volunteers dedicate weekly time to help these children build essential language skills, gain confidence, and unlock opportunities. Over six months, students progress from basic conversational English to confidently expressing themselves in and beyond the classroom. NMMS - Helping talent break free from constraint

3.5 million children are forced to discontinue their education due to financial constraints. Poverty is the biggest obstacle to students’ dreams of a better future. The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) offers a lifeline, providing four years of financial support to bright students from disadvantaged backgrounds. But clearing this exam is not just about talent but it requires access to resources, guidance, and a conducive environment for preparation. A lot of deserving students are unable to access this. At Youth For Seva, we are committed to bridging this gap. Through the efforts of our dedicated volunteers, well-structured curriculum, customized study materials, and regular mock tests, we equip students with the skills and confidence to excel in the NMMS exam.
