Astha , a non-governmental organisation, has been at the forefront of empowering people with disabilities since its inception in 2007. Through a range of initiatives spanning accessibility, education, employment, para-sports, and advocacy, Astha inspires individuals to lead lives of complete participation and contribution.(www.astha.in)
In 2016, Astha launched the Indian Wheelchair Tennis Tour(IWTT)to champion wheelchair tennis in India. To put Indian wheelchair tennis on the global map by 2032, IWTT continues to drive progress through tournaments, junior programmes and advocacy for accessibility in sports.
We believe in a world where talent knows no barriers, and every individual gets the opportunity to shine. Through our Indian Wheelchair Tennis Tour division, we are working towards this vision by launching a Wheelchair Tennis Development Project in Mumbai . This initiative aims to provide 8 months of comprehensive training, including life skill development, to promising wheelchair tennis athletes. This program will be through an innovative Leadership program of IWTT called “District Development Leadership Program:

Every rupee you donate empowers these athletes to compete at the highest levels and lead fulfilling lives. By contributing, you invest in their dreams and the future of inclusive sports in India.

Before a constraint shows up in the world it first shows up in the human mind and eventually exists in the agreements that are formed. The fundamental barrier for people is, this agreement, that there are only a limited set of possibilities for people with disabilities. This challenge cannot be addressed in the same realm of thinking that has gotten us where we are. It requires new thinking. Astha’s work enables people with disabilities, their friends, family and society at large to think beyond the box of socially constructed norms regarding disability and abilities of persons with disabilities.
Exploring potential, living joyously, living a life of complete participation is not even a dream for most people with disabilities.
Astha's work is inspired by the motto "newly possible" for every project we plan. This motto guides us to ignite the dreams of a growing number of people with disabilities in India.
Astha's work focuses on building an inclusive ecosystem in India within which persons with disabilities are equally contributing members along side their non-disabled peers.
Astha's work creates increasing opportunities for interaction among the disabled and non-disabled people living in India. This approach enhances opportunities for both the groups to know one another better. This approach blurs the boundaries between the two groups to a degree such that engagement between them is rooted in joy, satisfaction, and growth.
Astha's work empowers persons with disabilities to lead a life of their dreams by using sports as a tool for development and by improving education opportunities among Indians with disabilities. More importantly, Astha's work also focuses on improving voting rights of Indian with disabilities.
Discovering challenges, creating solutions and managing delivery of these solutions are themes Astha follows while choosing projects.
