OUR APPEAL

Donate Today and Change Lives (Let no child go to school hungry ever!)

Join us in this vital mission. Your generosity will not only feed hungry stomachs but also nourish young minds and spirits. Together, let's ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive.

Education is the key to unlocking a child's potential, but hunger and malnutrition shouldn't stand in their way. Imagine trying to concentrate on lessons when your stomach is empty. Sadly, this is the reality for many schoolchildren in our country.

We're on a mission to change that. With your support, we can ensure that every child has access to nutrition in the school.

Your donation can:
• Provide daily nutrition to children in need
• Improve academic performance by ensuring students have the energy and focus to succeed
• Create a sense of community by showing children they are cared for and supported

Together, We Can Make a Difference

No child should ever have to worry about where their next meal will come from. Your contribution, no matter the size, can make a tremendous impact on the lives of these young individuals and contribute to building a brighter future for our community as a whole.

Project
Description
Morning Nutrition for 8 Million (80 Lakh) School Children
The Annapoorna Morning Nutrition Programme is one of India’s largest nutritional interventions for rural school children at the grass roots level, that addresses child nutrition security and “hidden hunger” management. Annapoorna strives to provide nutritious, well-balanced morning nutrition to all school-going children in rural India and disadvantaged sections of the society with the vision “Let No Child Go to School Hungry Ever!” Today Annapoorna trust serves free morning nutrition to over 80,00,000 children at remote distant locations and various geographies across India in 90,000+ Govt. schools across 23 States and 5 Union Territories. After the daily morning assembly and prayer at school, the children are provided the morning nourishment, before they begin classes. Significant improvement of health in children has been clearly reflected in the growth parameters of height and weight, and hemoglobin count in their blood, all scientifically established. Tangible benefits seen are as below : • Increased academic performance of the children. • Increased school attendance • Lower school dropout rates • Improved health parameters • Marked increase in class attentiveness and academic performance of the children. • Overall positive Impact on Health, Immunity and Academics of the students All these services, which would have otherwise been expensive for the needy children’s families, are rendered to the beneficiaries free of charge. In the next 3-5 years Annapoorna is planning to expand Morning Nutrition Supplement program towards villages in each and every district of the country.

Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, a charitable trust headquartered in Muddenahalli, Chikkaballapur District of Karnataka, India, has been running one of India’s leading morning nutrition programme for rural school children working at the grass roots level in the area of child nutrition security and “hidden hunger” management. The Trust, set up in November 2015, primarily strives to feed nutritious, well-balanced breakfast to all school-going children in rural India and disadvantaged sections of the society. It also seeks to enable holistic development of children by actively engaging with the school authorities and helping them integrate an ethos of academic as well as human excellence. Annapoorna’s coverage of beneficiaries has been growing exponentially over the years.

Today, Annapoorna provides morning nutrition to over 30,00,000 children across 23 states and 4 Union Territories across India. These children attend government schools, located typically in rural hinterland. The morning nutrition is in the form of “SaiSure” nutrition supplement added to the milk, presented to the child every morning, after school prayer at the school premises.

This simple service has catalyzed improvements in enrollments, punctuality, mental focus, academic performance and health profile of the child, besides motivating the teachers who were previously teaching to empty stomachs from the morning.

Along the way, we have been fortunate to have many like minded individuals and institutions, including over 600 volunteers, many government officials across India who provide necessary permissions, and corporates who have contributed through employee-volunteering and other means.

It is our common nation-building objective to “Let no child go to school hungry ever!”.
