OUR APPEAL

Pride India is an NGO dedicated to bringing the best quality professional healthcare to the rural underprivileged. Every year, thousands of individuals living in rural areas of India are forced to suffer in silence due to poor infrastructure and a shortage of skilled medical professionals. They are often forgotten and underserved, with little hope for a better future. But PRIDE India takes care of those that are forgotten.

At our core, our mission is to bring a high quality of life to the poor rural underprivileged and to uplift the community as a whole. We believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to live a life filled with dignity, health, and happiness, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Sneha was a pregnant mother living far from our healthcare center when she fell ill with COVID-19. Her condition was critical, but we were able to provide timely and quality treatment, and she gave birth to a healthy baby; she is just one of the many lives we have impacted. We have brought high quality of life and improved health to 18,50,968 individuals across 329 villages in 40 years.

Through the 2023 Bangalore marathon, we aim to raise funds for:
Improving Mother and Child health through preventive and curative measures.
Organizing health camps for Non Communicable diseases through screening, tracking, and diagnosing.
Providing Care and Support for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Our goal is to provide life-saving healthcare services to 3 lakh underprivileged individuals who are in dire need of proper medical care. Every life is precious, and your support can make a significant difference in the lives of those who need it the most.

Imagine the impact of your contribution on the life of a mother who can give birth safely, a father who can provide for his family without pain, or a child who can dream of a better future. Together, we can bring hope and healing to the underserved communities in rural India.

Together, we can make a significant impact and improve the quality of life for the rural underprivileged communities of India. Join us in our mission to bring high-quality life to those who need it the most.

Project
Description
SPARSH : Providing access to affordable and quality health care in remote areas of Marathwada
P.R.I.D.E. India is a non-governmental organisation founded by Ms. Vipula Kadri in 1982 with the vision to create a society based on equal opportunities and human rights. The mission of the organisation is to empower marginalised communities to lead lives with dignity and self-respect. PRIDE India adopts an integrated approach to holistic development, focusing on areas such as education, health, environment, livelihood, and women empowerment especially in Maharashtra and Karnataka, reaching over 3 million beneficiaries across 1,100 villages and slum communities. We believe in complementing government support rather than creating parallel programs. The P.R.I.D.E India proposes to drive a Community Driven Health Action Project in remote rural areas of Maharashtra, with a focus on improving the health and well-being of marginalised communities, particularly women and children. The proposed project aims to address various health challenges in the community that include high maternal and infant mortality rates, non-institutional deliveries, non-communicable diseases, waterborne diseases, and malnutrition. The operational strategy will revolve around a holistic ecosystem approach, incorporating community action, volunteerism, training, diagnostics and screenings, WASH practices, life skills, and community development centred around the Community Centre or “Aarogya Bhavan”. The project will cover more than 40 villages in Osmanabad, Nanded and Hingoli districts, with a total population of 100,000 and seeks to achieve goals such as reducing mortality rates, increasing access to healthcare services, promoting healthy behaviours, strengthening the health system, and improving nutrition services. The project duration will be for three years, and the basics of the project will be outlined in the proposal.
Jeevanshala: A residential project for Tribal Katkari children to minimize school dropout
The Katkari Community is a Scheduled Tribe (ST) designated as a ‘Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group’ (PVTG), in Maharashtra, owing to their innate dependence on others for their livelihood and for a place to live. About 87 % of the Katkari’s are landless and have been forced into bonded labour in brick kilns, charcoal units and agricultural labour serving the interests of the rich and the landlords. The migratory nature of the community has historically impacted their health, education and other social indicators such as low literacy rate (41.7 %) and the lowest proportion of cultivators among all the tribal groups in Maharashtra (5 %). The PRIDE India initiative, ‘Jeevanshala’, is a residential programme designed specifically for the Tribal children (predominantly Katkari Community) with the objective to minimize the dropout rate of children by providing them a safe place to live while their parents migrate in search of livelihood. It further aims to promote education and holistic development of the children through various extra- curricular activities.

Founded in 1982, PRIDE India is a developmental organization registered in 1982, under Societies Registration Act, 1860. The core foundation of the organization is based on a holistic approach to bring about a sustainable change in the marginalized communities among communities living in rural and urban poverty. The mission of the organization is to impact the lives of marginalized communities in rural and urban area to help them lead lives filled with dignity and self-respect. Since inception, the organization has been working towards promoting holistic development of the communities by adopting an integrated approach with the emphasis on early childhood care and development, education, health and sanitation, livelihood, disaster relief and women empowerment. Pride India believes that it is imperative to assist underprivileged people who are surrounded by an extremely vulnerable background, by incorporating a strategic intent, encompassing of all the vital elements for sustainable development. The organization's work, spans over 9 districts in Maharashtra touching lives of 29.5 lacs beneficiaries till date across 1100 villages and slum communities.
PRIDE India works at par with the Sustainable development goals (SDG’s) of ensuring healthy lives & promotes well-being for all at all ages, ensuring access to sanitation; inclusive and equitable quality education, gender equality, productive employment & decent work for all.
