AIM for Seva is a nationally registered charitable trust initiated by Pujyasri Swami Dayananda Saraswati in 2000. The Trust's core focus is on delivering value-based education to rural and tribal children across India, primarily through its flagship program, Chatralayam (Free Student Hostel), which was established in 2001. Chatralayam has been a transformative force in the lives of rural and tribal children, providing comprehensive support near local schools. Students residing in Chatralayams receive an array of amenities: uninterrupted schooling, boarding facilities, clothing, uniforms, after-school tutoring, nutritious meals, extracurricular activities, yoga, sports, healthcare, and mentorship—all provided free of charge.
What began as one Chatralayam accommodating 32 boys has grown significantly; AIM for Seva now operates in 94 locations spanning from Karnaprayag to Kanyakumari and Amreli to Bardhaman, benefiting over 4,000 students from 2,700 villages annually.
Over time, AIM for Seva has expanded its initiatives beyond hostels to encompass educational institutions, healthcare facilities, community development projects, residential facilities for adult males with developmental disabilities, and sustainable living programs. These efforts aim to extend support to a broader network of underprivileged communities. Presently, the organization manages 190 projects across 17 states.
Throughout the past two decades, AIM for Seva has positively impacted the lives of over 20 million individuals in India. Despite this significant reach, the organization remains committed to expanding its reach to touch the lives of many more.
