OUR APPEAL

Lace-up your shoes and empower Nanhi Kalis to soar in their education!

Join Project Nanhi Kali at the TCS World 10K Bengaluru run and help bring joy to thousands of girls!

As the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 reshapes India’s educational landscape, Project Nanhi Kali has adapted to align with these new standards. Our mission to empower girls remains steadfast, but we have enhanced our program to focus on the skills needed for the 21st century, ensuring a smoother transition for these girls from school to higher education and the workplace.

Our comprehensive program includes:

1. **21st Century Skills Training**: This training focuses on developing digital and financial literacy, as well as essential life skills. It also promotes gender awareness and challenges stereotypes.

2. **Sports Leadership Training**: Our program delivers a professionally designed physical education curriculum tailored exclusively for girls. It provides them with regular opportunities to engage in fitness activities, promoting their overall development. Additionally, the program fosters teamwork and leadership skills while encouraging excellence in sports.

Each Nanhi Kali receives a kit that includes shoes, two pairs of socks, two t-shirts, and an annual supply of feminine hygiene products.

Together, let’s help these bright girls build a brighter future! Run with us and transform lives through the power of education.

Stride to change their world...Run for Nanhi Kali!

Description
Project Nanhi Kali
Project Nanhi Kali was started in 1996 by K.C. Mahindra Education Trust with the objective of providing quality education to underprivileged girls in India. Project Nanhi Kali was incepted against the backdrop of spiraling population growth rate, low female literacy level and low female workforce participation. In addition, social issues such as child marriage and child labor were commonplace in many parts of India, especially rural areas. Over the years, Project Nanhi Kali has reached out to over 700,000 underprivileged girls across 15 states in India. The Project has ensured disadvantaged girls in India have a successful schooling experience. Project Nanhi Kali is jointly managed by two reputed not for profits K.C. Mahindra Education Trust and Naandi Foundation since 2005. With the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 being implemented by state governments and educational institutions, we have taken the opportunity to reflect deeply on our journey thus far, and identified areas where we can evolve to align with the NEP. Our program emphasizes on holistic development by integrating curricular and extracurricular activities in schools, which will help girls transition well from school to higher education and work opportunities.
