Our flagship program STREE (She Transforms Routine to Equitable Entrepreneurship) focuses on helping ordinary household women identify their talent or strength; helping them nurture and develop this to become effective contributors to their families.
We launched the 1st edition of STREE during the pandemic when many women (especially housewives) lost their dearest life partners and were not certain of the way forward. KIF stepped in to help them explore, identify, and strengthen their capabilities with focused training for sustaining themselves individually or in cooperation with each other.
In 2021, we onboarded 100 beneficiaries who identified their capabilities in cooking, make-up, gardening, tailoring, traditional baby and new mother care, etc. KIF provided them with entrepreneurial support, knowledge, mentoring, equipment and the required handholding and customer support to help them receive and execute business orders. At the end of the year, we organised an Utsav to celebrate the success of our 1st batch of “Women Entrepreneurs” which encouraged us to launch the 2022 edition of STREE.
STREE has helped women beneficiaries in transforming their routine ideas into livelihood-based business opportunities enabling them to become equitable not just at home, but also amongst themselves as they cooperate to ensure collective success to deliver their commitments to their clients as entrepreneurs.
Today, we have successfully completed 3 editions of STREE, where over 300 proud and capable women beneficiaries from Bangalore have been transformed into entrepreneurs who are not just doing good for themselves but for the entire STREE community. We are now expanding the STREE family with the next batch 100 beneficiaries for 2024.
The largest obstacle to our efforts being expanded is a lack of sufficient finance and it is here that we seek your generous support. Your donations will help us in reaching out to more budding women entrepreneurs who are otherwise deprived of these opportunities.

Kshamata Innovation Foundation (KIF) is a Bangalore based NGO that aims to make a lasting and effective change through research-driven innovative programmes in women empowerment, capacity building, youth development sustainability, rural development, and inclusive community growth. Our work is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
