15649 Raised Goal 1000000

OUR APPEAL

In the last 10 years Craftizen Foundation has impacted over 4,500 beneficiaries across 25 livelihood centres in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Channapatna and Cheriyal.

Our mission is to provide sustainable craft based livelihoods to marginalized communities and traditional artisans. We have customized our craft training programs for adults with intellectual disability and underprivileged women in urban, rural & tribal areas to provide support across the crafts value chain from skill training to group enterprise formation, design development, sustained production and marketing.

We have developed over 350 unique designs from 30 different craft skills including wooden toy making, lacquer work, hand-embroidery and folk art painting to recycling discards such as Temple Flowers, Paper dust and single-use plastics.

Craftizen Foundation bridges the gap between the crafts and the corporate sectors through a range of initiatives including CSR programs for craft based livelihoods, customized merchandise solutions, curated artworks and workshops.

OUR PROJECTS

Help us raise funds for our specific needs.

Project
Description
Green Skilling
Focus is on skill development in creating marketable products from discard materials such as Temple flowers, paper-dust, fabric leftovers and newspapers. Under this project 2,500 beneficiaries from marginalized sections including adults with intellectual disability and low income women, who have no other sustainable sources of income are being trained and supported pan-India. Currently we are supporting 20 livelihood centres across 5 states.
Swayam Shakti
Over 500 women living in one of Hyderabad’s largest urban slums, have been skilled in hand embroidery, tailoring, crochet and box-making. Women who were previously unskilled and never employed before are now earning regularly and taking strong strides in their journey of self discovery and financial empowerment. 95% first time earners, many of our women artisans are setting aside part of their income towards their children's higher education.
