A large number of patients from rural India visit civil hospitals in metro cities like Mumbai for treatments that cannot be done in small towns and villages. This diaspora feels extremely displaced in large cities. They suffer tremendously as they need to find accommodation in cities that are expensive, they need to pay for various tests and medicines, in all this many a times they are unable to afford a decent meal.
WithAarya runs an initiative called "Don Ghaas" which literally means two morsels inside and outside various municipal hospitals. Under this initiative meals are provided free to patients and their caregivers. Each meal comprises of Roti, Sabzi, Khichadi and Banana. The meals are served after checking the hospital cards by our volunteers to ensure the meals go to the right person.
The cost of each meals is Rs. 50/-. We at WithAarya would be truly obliged if you could sponsor these meals. We target to provide for 10,000 meals.

WIthaarya is a NGO primarily working in providing relief to patients and care givers in the government run hospitals. We distribute about 1000 meals every day at 5 different locations in Maharashtra which include KEM hospital at Mumbai, Chatrapati Shivaji hospital at Thane, Civil Hospital at Ratnagiri, Kolhapur and Amravati. We started with modest 50 meals a day 7 years ago and today are at 1000 meals free meals a day. Along with this we also provide food utilities for patients/ accommodation provisions for out station patients, and various other initiatives like Eye camp for coolies, health camp for women of lower strata.
