OUR APPEAL

In India, Organ donations no doubt save lives beyond gender, caste, and religious boundaries. However, the high cost of organ transplants, primarily in the private sector, excludes many patients from this life-saving opportunity. Public hospitals conducting transplants are limited, leaving over 95% of India's organ donation and transplantation activities in private hands, with liver and heart transplants ranging from Rs. 20 to 25 lakhs. Even kidney transplants cost Rs. 8 to 10 lakhs, making it unaffordable for the majority. The economically disadvantaged are therefore disproportionately affected, lacking access to life-saving transplantation procedures.

Urgent measures are needed to make transplants affordable, with NGOs playing a crucial role until State Governments address the issue. MOHAN Foundation's initiative 'Anudaan - Making Transplants Affordable' aims to bridge this gap, providing assistance to economically disadvantaged patients and making organ transplants accessible to all.

MOHAN Foundation has so far been able to support 56 patients (Sanya to verify this number and also give breakup between heart, liver, kidney and corneal transplants, and also how many were children). Of these, ....(no. of children under 18) were children, who will now be able to go on and lead long productive lives.

Join us in by supporting our Anudaan initiative, so that 'No Indian dies for want of an organ'
