Every step I take is for a better world for all. Will you take a step with me? 🏃♂️
Hi, I’m Meena Thaniyan, and I’m running the TCS10K—not just for the thrill of it, but to change lives.
I come from Gudalur and belong to the Panniar tribal community, one of the five indigenous tribes in the region. Growing up, opportunities for girls like me were limited—education, sports, and dreams often ended too soon. Many of my friends were married early, had children young, and dropped out of school.
But sports changed my life. Through Ultimate Frisbee and life skills education, I found confidence, courage, and a voice. I got the chance to travel in India and to US, and coach young girls from my community who, like me, were told they cannot play after puberty.
That’s why I'm running and fundraising—to give back, so that more and more young people from my community lead a better life. Through One All, we use sports to coach girls and boys about gender equality, leadership, and resilience. We create safe spaces where they can express themselves, challenge norms, and dream bigger.
I need your support! Your donation will help us reach more young people, keep more girls in school, and give boys the tools to unlearn gender biases.
