Adarane Charitable Trust is a non profit organisation established in the year 2005. Adarane
Charitable Trust , founded by Dr.Guru Prasad in the year 2005 ,envisages
mainstreaming children from the disadvantaged families and supporting the
deprived underprivileged families, in nation building by providing care, support and
protection at Adarane Charitable Trust , located at #60,Green Garden
Layout,Chokkanahalli post, Jakkur, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560064.
Our Mission : Mainstreaming the semi orphaned, destitute, uncared children and
the under privileged by providing them Love, care , education, and support and work
towards ensuring that they are not deprived of their basic needs and are given a
chance to lead a fulfilling life.
Our Vision : We envision a world where every human being is loved, cared and not
deprived of the basic necessities.
Dr. Guru Prasad hails from a very poor family . He was deprived of education and
had to struggle for daily needs. This deprivation led him to start helping a few
children near his house. He started by helping a few underprivileged children with
food , shelter and education. He took up a small room to house the 15 children he
rescued from the roads. He had absolutely no funds to provide for them . He started
seeking help with the neighbours and ensured the children’s requirements were
taken care of. He then realised that there were certain documents and permits
required to house abandoned children. He then ran from pillar to post and got all the
documents required to start the children’s home. Adarane Charitable Trust is now
complete in terms of documentation and legal papers in 2011. The children’s home
that was in a small house , moved to a bigger place with the help of local donations.
Our projects :
1. Children’s home :
Adarane Charitable Trust now is a home for 25 under privileged, neglected and
abandoned children. The children are given nutritious food, shelter , education and
medical requirements if any . They are also given training on extra curricular
activities like karate, Dancing etc.
2. Free coaching centre :
The word spread across the community about the children’s home and the parents
of the poor families approached Dr Guru Prasad seeking help for Tuition after school.
He started free coaching centres for these children. Free Coaching centres are
spread across Devanahalli, Doddaballapura, Bagepalli and Chintamani. We have 42
centres with 40 children in each centre.
3. Mother and Child care :
Adarane Charitable Trust is also very actively involved in the well being of pregnant
women living in rural areas under the project name of Mother and child care .
Adarane Charitable Trust takes care of all their requirements and provides financial
aid for 18 months and some money to take care of their daily requirements .
4. Community Development Program :
Under the Community development Program , Adarane Charitable Trust helps tribal
families in Gudibande Taluk of Chikkaballapura district . This tribe is called the “
Hakki - Pikki “ tribe. Adarane Charitable Trust , helps them build their homes by
distributing tents and construction materials.
5. Supporting the Physically Challenged :
Adarane Charitable Trust , helps the physically challenged by providing wheelchairs
and crutches and provides physical and emotional support to cope with their daily
routine. Adarane Charitable Trust also pays fees for the children of the physically
challenged families.
6. Abandoned Elders :
Adarane Charitable Trust also helps the abandoned elders by distributing groceries
and providing physical and emotional support. Making them feel they are important .
Adarane Charitable Trust provides Grocery kits to 50 elders living in an old age
home every month . Some money is also given to them to take care of their critical
requirements . We also help them by painting their houses and renovations if
required .
7. SHG - Self help groups
Self-help groups have been set up in rural areas like Bagepalli, Devanahalli and
Doddaballapur to help the women empower themselves to uplift them from poverty .
A small amount is given to them to start a low interest loan to the women in need.
The project includes skill training and promoting entreprenuership and job
placements through various skill development programs like tailoring, pottery etc.
8. House Renovations:
Adarane Charitable Trust is also undertaking House renovations for the families
living in acute poverty in Bagepalli, Chikkaballapura and Devanahalli .
9. Nature conservation : .
Adarane Charitable Trust also contributes towards conservation of nature by
planting trees in barren lands and also conducts tree plantation drives in schools to
educate the students on the importance of greenery .
9. Beedhi Rangabhoomi :
Adarane Charitable Trust organises street plays -” Beedhi Ranga bhoomi “ with a
social message in Villages of rural areas. This has been a good reach to the people
living with a lot of myths and wrong beliefs motivating them to adapt changes for
their well being .
