MY APPEAL

Growing up in a city like Bangalore, I understand the complexities & struggles of a middle-class family to survive in this fast-paced ever ever-moving city. When it is a struggle for a middle-class family themselves to survive here, surviving as a migrant is truly hard given the cost of living & the huge challenge of inclusion, providing quality education to their children is a dream for them.

When it comes to education, Equity and equality in education are essential principles that aim to ensure fairness, opportunity, and justice within educational systems. It promotes Equal Access to Opportunities and Social Justice, fosters Diversity and Inclusion, Closing Achievement Gaps, Building a Stronger Society.

I request you to be part of this small initiative to raise funds and also spread awareness for the “Gubbachi learning community” whose vision is “A world where every child develops their potential to lead a dignified life.”

I invite you to be part of helping children who are in need to grow into confident, and strong individuals and lead a dignified life in future. It is an equal responsibility for all of us to work through challenges by investing in equitable education systems, governments and communities can empower individuals to contribute meaningfully to the workforce, civic life, and cultural enrichment, ultimately leading to greater economic growth and social cohesion.

For regular city dwellers, Instead of ordering a pizza which usually costs ~500INR or buying an expensive product for the month, request you to invest here & support the cause! If you are an individual company, help me raise funds through your marketing programs. I am sure there is always a way out, once one makes up their mind to help 😊🙌🏽🦋 !

Thank you in advance 😊 !

RAISING FUNDS FOR

GUBBACHI LEARNING COMMUNITY
Founded in 2015, Gubbachi Learning Community is a Section 8 company* working towards the educational inclusion of marginalised children from migrant families in Bangalore’s IT corridor along Sarjapur and Outer Ring Roads.

Children from these communities are often prevented from attending school due to multiple reasons - from physical access, existing learning deficits and cultural barriers. Even if they are able to attend, non-learning in under-resourced government schools present further obstacles. This leads to poor school outcomes, low attendance and ultimately - to dropouts.

Gubbachi has developed a portfolio of interlinking programmes that take a 360° view of this problem:

- Our Educational Programmes address the spectrum of learning disadvantage and seek to remove barriers to education – with particular focus on foundational literacy and school certification for adolescents.

- Our Community Programmes include initiatives to support the families of students to keep them invested in schooling. For example: building social identity for migrant workers, enabling access to benefits and entitlements, and providing access to quality healthcare.

Since 2015, we have impacted 3,900+ children in nine Government Higher Primary Schools along Sarjapur Road, and engaged with 18,300+ families in around 30 migrant communities across Bangalore.

I am a a passionate runner who loves to run for causes that matter and I am trying to help bring a small change on my behalf.

A big thank you to all those who have donated on this page.
