Sevabharathi
Sevabharathi® Kanyadi was conceptualized and started its community activities in the year 2004 and later registered in the year 2012 under the Trust Act. Sevabharathi was found by Shri K Vinayaka Rao himself a victim of spinal cord injury with the avowed objective of extending social service to the deserved and marginalized segment of the population of Belthangady Taluk, a remote taluk in Dakshina Kannada District of Karnataka State.
“Sevabharathi” is actively engaged in social work and community services during the last 17 years in the field of health, education, and empowerment of rural women.
Vinayaka Rao had a dream to contribute towards his disability sector so started a new project “Sevadhama” in 2018 is the 4th unique centre in Karnataka working towards rehabilitation of persons with spinal cord injury. Sevadhama Extends three months rehabilitation services free of cost except food charges, empower them with life skills and enable to lead a life with dignity and self-help. Persons with Spinal Cord Injuries are rehabilitated by providing counselling, physiotherapy, paramedical support, training in independent living skills, aids and appliances, environmental adaptations and aid in accessing social security benefits through a structured approach among others. We have impacted around 300+ PWSCI and rehabilitated 78 of them.
Our project “Arogyam” focus on health sector by conducting Blood donation camps and arrangement of blood in case of emergency, providing ambulance services on concessional fare, free health checkup camps to make better and healthy Society.
Project “Saabalini” is to support rural women and empower them by providing free tailoring camp to make them self-reliance and health checkup camps, health awareness programmers are conducted. Till date we have impacted 600+ rural women.
